Three longtime residents were honored as Living Legends at a reception held Wednesday night by the Braunfels Foundation Trust in New Braunfels—Carol Johnson, Michael Meek and Wilfred Schlather received the recognition for their service to the community.

Cullen Ricks will revive an adult German dance group in New Braunfels to bring back a fading part of the community’s heritage—he is using his experience from organizing the local kids’ German dance group Kinder.

New Braunfels ISD announced that in compliance with House Bill 1481, students must keep cellphones turned off or silenced and hidden during school hours—penalties will be enforced for violations.
