GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Texas Senate passed a bill on March 19th that requires every public school classroom to display a Ten Commandments poster of set dimensions—its vote was 20–11—and the measure now moves to the Texas House for a vote with effect in the 2025-2026 school year if approved. FOX 7
- ➤ Officials are proposing a neighborhood empowerment zone + tax increment reinvestment zone on New Braunfels' west end to spur local development incentives. Herald-Zeitung
- ➤ Officials from the Fort Worth District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced that Canyon Lake will continue to close Overlook Park and the Canyon Dam Service Road for necessary contract work (limiting local access) until repairs are finished according to schedule. Herald-Zeitung
