Good morning, New Braunfels.

With a winter storm expected later this weekend, ERCOT offers a real-time dashboard (green signals normal grid conditions) so Texans can monitor power reserves and receive alerts when demand increases.

Gov. Abbott issued a disaster declaration for 134 counties as severe winter weather is set to begin Friday evening in Texas.

Officials say the power grid is stable though local outages are possible and TxDOT crews are treating roads to keep travel safe.

TxDOT crews began pretreating major roadways yesterday and will run 24-hour operations through the winter storm+ officials urge residents to avoid unnecessary travel on busy highways like I-35 and US 290.
